Chair Massage

imageChair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension with your clothes on. You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. With seated massage, you can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that you may feel in disrobing for a traditional massage. Also, chair massage sessions are usually shorter than traditional massage, making it convenient enough to fit into your busy schedule.

Relaxation Massage

imageRelaxation Massage has many benefits including; reducing stress, enhancing mental clarity, increasing flexibility, improve circulation, and relieving aches and pain. This form of massage uses oil or creme in an array of strokes including; efflourage (long, flowing strokes) and petrissage (alternating pressing and squeezing strokes). Relaxation Massage is usually performed on a massage table, but can be adjusted for on a massage chair.

Trigger Point Therapy

imageTrigger Point Therapy focuses on releasing “trigger points” (tender areas of tension that occur in the body's muscular tissue). This technique helps to release these points by applying focused pressure, in order to relieve physical, emotional, and mental stress which has built up over time. Because this process can be perceived as painful, it is important to communicate any discomfort. Triggar Point Therapy can be performed on either a massage chair or table.

Myofascial Release

imageMyofascial Release focuses on the connective tissues of the body. This form of massage uses very little crème in rolling and lifting techniques to flush toxins, warm muscles, and loosen adhesions. These techniques help cause ease of movement in the body's fluids and muscular system. Because this process can be perceived as painful it is important to communicate discomfort levels.

Pregnancy Massage

imagePregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.

Infant Massage

imageInfant Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically to promote the healthy development of your infant. Caring human touch is crucial for a healthy thriving baby, and the benefits of massaging your infant are potent and numerous. For example, many infants show improved growth and development of the brain and nervous system. Infant massage has also been shown to improve the quality of a baby's sleep, as well as strengthening their immune system.

Reiki

imageReiki is a form of energy work that originated in Japan. This energy work focuses on cleansing, revitalizing, and balancing the energy/life force of the body. Resulting in an increase in the body's natural self-healing mechanisms, helping to establish optimum health. The benefits of Reiki are believed to range from the release of habitual mental/emotional stress to alleviating chronic pain. Reiki does not require any physical contact and can be done from a distance.

CranioSacral (SM)

CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle yet powerful technique that is effective in releasing neck pain, back imagepain, and mental stress (among other things). It does this by optimizing the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spine and around the skull. Developed by physician William Sutherland, this therapy provides a very soothing and relaxing healing experience.

Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy aims to gently and rhythmically move the lymph through the body, especially swollen areas of the body, relieving pressure and enhancing the functioning of the immune system. As both a preventative and remedial technique, LD can be used for a wide range of purposes including faster recovery from injury, reduction of swelling and discomfort from pregnancy, and strengthened resistance to illness.

Aromatherapy

imageThe use of therapeutic (essential) oils or hydrosols that are massaged into the skin. These oils are made from flowers, fruit, trees, bushes, shrubs, herbs, and spices through a distillation process. Hydrosols are a byproduct of this distillation that have been found safer to use with pregnancy and infants. Essential oils come in many varieties, each containing their own benefits.

Reflexology

imageReflexology is a type of bodywork that focuses on applying pressure to the specific nerve zones in your feet. Unlike other foot massages that intend to mostly relieve tension in the feet themselves, reflexology is a far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body. According to reflexology, every part of the human body is mapped into your feet. Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions such as allergies, headaches, and depression.

Table Thai Massage

Thai massage is more energizing and rigorous than most other forms of massage therapy. It's also called Thai Yoga massage, because I use my hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like postures and stretches. My clients say Thai massage is like doing yoga without doing any of the work. No oil is applied, so you are fully dressed during the session. A single Thai massage session will help you release stress and relieve pain, and help you function more effectively at work and home.
